This large painting consists of tightly packed sections of both direct color and of semi-transparent glazes over an underlying color. The sections, or cells, vary in intensity and value and vie for attention amongst one another. The numerous crisscrossed linear elements (creating the titular “screen”) are unpainted areas of the underlying raw canvas.
